THREE DIMENSIONAL CT RECONSTRUCTION IMAGES IN ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY

Abstract
Three-dimensional computed tomographic (CT) re-construction images of bone and soft tissues surfaces have improved understanding of complex facial deformities.
This method has proven useful in the evaluation of the pathologic facial soft tissue and bony morphology, facilitated surgical planning, and applied to evaluate of postoperative results. Also complete inspection of the reproduced structure can be made from any view point, including internal inspection.
This is a report of two eases of the fractures of the left and right maxilla and the plexiform ameloblastoma on the mandible, extended to the condyle, at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, ¢¥The University of Texas.
